Welcoming Katie Lewis as our new artistic director for acting

Take Flight Academy are delighted to welcome Katie Lewis as our new artistic director for Acting.

Katie trained as a theatre director at Birkbeck College on the MFA in Theatre directing.

She went on to work as assistant and resident director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Theatre Royal Bath and National Theatre.

Katie has directed plays at the Library Theatre Manchester, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Old Red Lion Theatre and Arcola Theatre. She has regularly worked as a visiting director and acting teacher at drama schools and universities including Arts Educational Schools London and The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. She is a trained LAMDA teacher and an associate of The National Youth Theatre.

Katie has worked in primary and secondary schools, colleges and youth theatres all over the country, running masterclasses in text and Shakespeare, coaching acting and audition technique. She is really looking forward to joining the team at Take Flight and bringing her passion for the craft and expertise to the acting strand for children and teens.
