    Ballet Teacher

    William Byram (he/him) is a choreographer/ dance artist currently based in London, UK. William’s choreography has been featured at the Battery Dance Festival (NYC), JCE Jazz Dance Project, Dancers Responding to AIDS, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Purchase Opera, Trinity Laban Opera, Blackheath Halls and Opéra de Baugé. His production of Dido & Aeneas (2019) won 2nd place for Best Production from the National Opera Association in the US. He has been featured in One Dance UK, The Dance Enthusiast and Dance Arts Journal.

    He holds a BFA from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY, where he received the Bert Terborgh Award for creativity, leadership & vision upon graduation. He also studied ballet at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. As a dancer, he has performed the works of George Balanchine, Ohad Naharin, Merce Cunningham, Maxine Doyle, Maya Taylor, Kinsun Chan and many others. William has danced professionally with Marigny Opera Ballet (original member), Savannah Ballet Theatre and Gibson/Martelli London.

    William was the 2021-2022 US-UK Fulbright Postgraduate Scholar in Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where he completed an MFA in choreography. For the 2023-2024 Season, he will be an assistant director for Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Opera School.

    William is a Lecturer of movement for singers at Trinity Laban and teaches ballet and contemporary across the London area in the recreational and vocational sectors for both children and adults. He is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher and has received additional teacher training through the Royal Ballet School.
