Director & Business Manager
Leanne has been a parent of the Academy since 2011, when her son Milo joined Take Flight Theatre School (as we were then known). With Director Stevie’s inspirational teaching and nurturing support, Milo has been working professionally for the past two years both in the theatrical world and more recently in the film industry. She also has younger children attending the Academy.
Leanne has a background in advertising and marketing, with eight years experience as an Account Manager working for the Media wings of leading London Advertising Agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and Bates Dorland.
She left the industry in 2001 to have her eldest child, and a second child followed in 2003. In 2005 she successfully launched SE23 Living Magazine, the local, free, advertiser funded, community magazine for Forest Hill and Honor Oak. Running this small business from home she acted as publisher, editor, administrator and sales person! The magazine was sold in 2008 to SE Magazines Ltd and shortly after she went on to have two further children in 2009 and 2011.
With the youngest of four children now in full time education it was time for a new challenge. So when a catch-up over coffee, in August 2015, resulted in an invitation from Stevie to join the company as Business Manager, she was absolutely delighted.
Leanne says: “it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to work on the exciting re-launch of Take Flight, Stevie and I are working closely together to ensure the smooth transition from Take Flight Theatre School to the fully-fledged Take Flight Academy of Performing Arts – exciting times ahead!”
